At 8:03 AM MST, our systems received an unexpected and overwhelming spike in traffic from the Microsoft Outlook calendar sync. Our system administrators received notification of this spike, and by 8:43 AM MST, our team had scaled our server clusters to handle the load. System design changes are being put in place to handle spikes like this in the future.
